Test Kitchen Caffe
I love finding new places to eat in BF! And I love being able to support the entrepreneurs in my hometown. So here's another great find in the South - Test Kitchen Caffe. Best identified by the big red door as you drive down Tropical Avenue in the Las Pinas side of BF. Their set-up is comfortable and unassuming. Just a quaint little dining room with interesting fixtures and pictures of their best sellers on the walls. Their menu consists of dishes and flavors inspired by the owners' ... READ MORE
Bellevue Bohol & Tarsier Botanika
Another great discovery in Bohol is the Tarsier Botanika, a restaurant-slash-sanctuary with a beautiful viewing deck overlooking the sea. The sanctuary is still under construction with gardens surrounding villas, which will be open for rent in 2016. The restaurant is definitely worth going to because aside from the view, the food is amazing, too! The Tarsier Botanika offers a free pick up and drop off service to their branch in Alona. If your resort is located any further than that, you'll ... READ MORE
Bohol Countryside Tour
Bohol is a small town in the Philippines known for the world famous Chocolate Hills, Loboc River and the tarsier, a strange little animal that looks like a monkey but actually has more in common with a bat. The best way to see what Bohol has to offer is to go on tour. The Bohol Countryside Tour is something that a lot of tour operators offer. It's a one day tour that includes all the must-see and historic locations in the city. I opted to book a tour with a company called Incon Bohol ... READ MORE
Feeding the Fish in Nuvali
On our way back from Tagaytay we stopped to feed the Koi in Nuvali. I hadn't been to Nuvali in a while and was surprised with all the development that occurred in just a few months. Pardon me as I practice my postcard making skills. :) The fish feeding station wasn't open when we arrived so we had to settle for waving our fingers above the water and watching the fish crowd around and look up at us waiting to be fed. It was quite funny. One of the onlookers found a piece of bread to throw at ... READ MORE
A Merry Tagaytay Christmas
I spent Christmas in Tagaytay with my huge family this year. The traffic was horrible and it was surprisingly cold but the entire vacation was a major food fest and I loved every bit of it. Tagaytay is located south of Manila and is usually visited because of it's breezy climate, especially in December. The picture below is of the Taal Volcano, which I've never seen up close. I always take pictures of it but it involves a boat ride and a long trek to get to the crater. We stayed in the ... READ MORE
