I love finding new places to eat in BF! And I love being able to support the entrepreneurs in my hometown. So here’s another great find in the South – Test Kitchen Caffe. Best identified by the big red door as you drive down Tropical Avenue in the Las Pinas side of BF.
Their set-up is comfortable and unassuming. Just a quaint little dining room with interesting fixtures and pictures of their best sellers on the walls.
Their menu consists of dishes and flavors inspired by the owners’ travels around the Philippines and abroad, but conceptualized and prepared in such a way that is familiar and appealing to the Filipino palette.
My friend and I chose the famous Liempochon and Adobo Pasta as our main dishes, and the Salted Caramel Brownie in a Cup for dessert.
The Liempochon is a sinful creation that is essentially a Cebu lechon cooked liempo-style. The tanglad is stuffed into the meat before it is roasted in the oven and the skin is crisped to perfection. It is served with a side of green mango salad.
My personal favorite is the Adobo Pasta, which had soft, flavorful chicken and pork adobo flakes masterfully mixed with spaghetti noodles and a fried egg on top. I love this so much I’ve come back for it twice already – and I’m not even a big fan of adobo.
Finally, the dessert – literally a crunchy yet chewy chocolate brownie cooked in a cup, topped with vanilla ice cream and thick, salted caramel syrup. It’s so good you might not want to share this with anyone. 🙂
Should you happen upon this post I encourage you to try Test Kitchen Caffe, you won’t regret it. Restaurant details are below. The place is pretty small so you may want to call to reserve a table. Happy eating!
