Alphaland’s Balesin Island Club is an exclusive members-only luxury resort known for having seven themed villages that mimic popular beach destinations around the world: Balesin (Philippines), Bali (Indonesia), St. Tropez (France), Toscana (Italy), Mykonos (Greece), Costa del Sol (Spain), and Phuket (Thailand).
Balesin Island Club is members-only in the sense that all guests have to be accompanied by a member in order to go and stay there. The 500 hectare island is located in Polilo, Quezon Province an is a quick 25 minute plane ride from Manila. You have to take a small chartered plane and depart from a private hangar, which adds to the resort’s posh and exclusive image.
I stayed in Balesin for three nights. The first I spent in the lovely Mykonos and the last in the peaceful and beautiful Bali. I spent most of my mornings exploring the different villages, and most of my afternoons taking dips in the pool in Balesin Village – the village I liked most.
Overall, our stay wasn’t perfect but it was quite a nice getaway. Thank you, Balesin!
